Liposuction of the Arms in Lipoedema

Greater ease and mobility in everyday life

The arms can also be affected by lipoedema—usually in addition to the legs, but sometimes as the only region. Common features include symmetrical fat deposits on the upper arms, sometimes extending to the forearms. Affected areas are often painful and sensitive, and tight clothing becomes uncomfortable. Many patients avoid showing their arms, which can impact self-confidence.

How the Procedure Works

  • The arms are usually fully treated in a single session.
  • LiSuMed performs the procedure using WAL under general anaesthesia, ensuring tissue preservation and comfort.
  • After surgery, patients wear a special compression garment designed for the arms.
  • The garment is worn day and night for 6 weeks, then only during the day.
  • Manual lymphatic drainage begins on the second postoperative day to reduce swelling and support healing.

What You Can Expect

Surgery generally leads to a significant reduction in symptoms:
Less pain, improved mobility, a lighter body sensation – and often a noticeable improvement in daily life and self-image.

Particularly when it comes to the arms, liposuction can be a major step towards greater self-confidence and enhanced quality of life for many patients.
