Liposuction of the Legs in Lipoedema

The legs are the body area most frequently affected by lipoedema. Typical signs include symmetrical fat accumulation on the thighs, knees, and lower legs, often accompanied by pain, a sensation of tightness, sensitivity to pressure, and significant limitations in daily life. Notably, the feet remain unaffected.

Many women struggle not only with the physical symptoms and altered body shape but also with limited mobility, difficulty finding suitable clothing, and the emotional toll of living with a chronic condition.

How the Procedure Works

  • The legs are typically treated in two to three separate surgeries.
  • Each session should be spaced 8 to 10 weeks apart, though longer intervals are possible and planned individually.
  • At LiSuMed, all procedures are performed using WAL under general anaesthesia, which is gentle and highly effective.
  • After surgery, patients wear custom-made flat-knit compression stockings, initially 24/7, then during the day only.
  • Manual lymphatic drainage begins on the second postoperative day to support healing.

What You Can Expect

The aim of liposuction is not just visible volume reduction but above all pain relief, improved sense of body awareness, and greater freedom of movement in daily life.
Many patients report a completely quality of life just weeks after the procedure.

Careful planning—tailored precisely to your symptoms—is key to ensuring long-term success.
