Liposuction of the legs for lipedema

Targeted help for the most commonly affected region

The legs are the most commonly affected body region in lipedema. Typical is a symmetrical increase in volume in the thighs, knees, and lower legs – often associated with pain, feelings of tension, sensitivity to pressure, and a massive reduction in quality of life. The feet are not affected.

Many affected women suffer not only from pain and altered body image, but also from restricted movement, difficulty finding suitable clothing, and the psychological strain of the chronic condition.

Procedure for liposuction on the legs

  • The legs are usually treated in two to three separate operations.
  • The interval between procedures should be at least 8 to 10 weeks – longer breaks are also possible and are individually coordinated.
  • At LiSuMed, we perform the procedures using water jet-assisted liposuction (WAL) under general anesthesia – particularly gentle and effective.
  • After the operation, you wear your specially fitted flat-knit compression pantyhose, initially around the clock, later only during the day.
  • Manual lymphatic drainage begins on the second postoperative day and specifically supports healing.

What you can expect

The goal of liposuction is not only visible volume reduction, but above all a noticeable relief of pain, an improved body feeling, and more freedom of movement in everyday life. Many patients report a completely new zest for life just a few weeks after the surgery.

Careful planning, tailored to your individual complaints, is crucial for long-term success.
