Liposuction on abdomen and back
More balance for the midsection
In cases of lipedema, the pathologically increased fatty tissue can also occur in the trunk area – especially in the area of the (lower) abdomen, flanks, neck, and bra line. Although these regions have not yet been mentioned in the official guidelines as typical lipedema zones, in practice we repeatedly see patients with clear symptoms in these areas as well.
Especially after surgery on the legs or arms, an increase in fat on the torso often results in an uneven body image, which can be both physically and mentally stressful.
Treatment at LiSuMed
- Liposuction on the trunk is usually performed in a separate procedure, often after treating the legs.
- Here too, we use water-jet assisted liposuction (WAL) under general anesthesia to gently treat the tissue while achieving an aesthetically harmonious result.
- After the procedure, suitable compression garments are worn, usually in the form of a compression corset (ready-made).
Treating the midsection can help significantly harmonize the overall appearance and alleviate symptoms such as feelings of pressure or back tension.
